A Memorable Family Experience at La Casa
by Azaia Windwraith

During our 2013 summer season, Jana and her good friend visited La Casa Cottage Resort with their kids, staying in one of our beach club units. We decided to talk with Jana and get the scoop on her vacation.

Q: Why did you decide to come to La Casa?

A: My friend and I were looking for somewhere to take our kids. We wanted a place that had something for everyone, because we were traveling with kids and teens. La Casa was a good choice because it was more resort-y and had pools. We got one big beach house together and rented a golf cart which the kids just loved!

Q: How did the kids enjoy the experience?

A: The kids just loved it! It was very hot so they wanted to be in the pool all the time. They basically lived and died in the pool! One day we rented a boat, too. They had a blast!

Q: What did you like about La Casa?

A: It had something for both the kids and adults. I loved the setup of the house – I wanted to move in! The amenities in the home were great. There was a gym so we were able to work out. For the kids, the pool was so kid friendly! I was able to sit on the side and just watch them. That made it a more relaxing trip.

Q: What was the highlight of your trip?

A: Watching the kids enjoying freedom in the pool and just their joy at being outside in the water. One of my children is autistic, so it was really nice that the pool was so kid friendly and she was able to have her independence. The water trampoline was also really fun!

Q: What made the trip memorable?

A: I think, again, the ease that everyone was able to get. Family time and also age appropriate things to do for everyone.

Q: What tips do you have for new guests to La Casa?

A: Make sure to bring the food you need for your trip. The store on site is not a full grocery store, so make sure to pack groceries ahead of time. Also, certain fruit in the Okanagan grows at a certain time in the season, so think ahead when you book if you want to do fruit picking.

Q: Is there anything else you would like to say about your stay at La Casa?

A: I was really appreciative of the staff at La Casa. We had an issue in our cottage when my daughter broke one of the blinds. The staff were very kind and fixed it the next day. They didn’t charge us for damage which was really nice. Overall, we enjoyed it so much we booked it again for 2014!

Thank you to Jana for taking the time to share your experiences with us! We look forward to seeing you and your family again this summer!
