Thanksgiving long weekend – Kelowna & Vernon Events

Fall has well and truly arrived!  Celebrate the changing of the seasons by attending one of these events over the October long weekend.  Don’t forget – you’re in wine country, you might as well enjoy it!

  • Flavours of Fall Tasting Menu at Quail’s Gate Winery:

During the Fall Okanagan Wine Festival, Quail’s Gate Winery is offering a special 4-course tasting menu with wine pairings! Sit back, relax and take in the views of one of Kelowna’s most loved wineries. Reservations must be made in advance by calling 250.769.2500 – last day for the tasting menu is Oct 7.

  • Sip & Carve a Pumpkin at Buez Wine Bar:

Head down to Buez Wine Bar for a brilliant evening of pumpkin carving. They clean your pumpkin AND even toast your pumpkin seeds for you, while you take a sip of whichever drink you like – sounds good, doesn’t it?

  • BMO Okanagan Marathon 2018 & Family Festival Weekend:

Watch the locals run the marathon, half marathon, 10k and 5k at this brilliant family festival. You can even be spontaneous and take part yourself, as some events allow registration on the day!  This is a beautiful scenic route around Okanagan Lake – the perfect location.  Oct 6 & 7.

  • Family Pumpkin Festival at Davidson Orchards:

Pick your own pumpkin, take an Orchard train ride and snag some fresh produce at the market! There’s even a Pumpkin Castle for the little ones to enjoy as well as a 1 acre farm themed play area, tasty harvest snacks and plenty of farm animals to visit! What more could you want in a fall festival?!  All weekends in October!

  • Pumpkin Swim at Greater Vernon Recreation:

This one’s for the kids! Get in the pool during 1.30pm – 4.00pm on Oct 7 to see if you can find any pumpkins! Admission is by donation to the food bank only.

  • Grape Stomping Party at House of Rose Winery:

A free family friendly event that’s all you’ve ever wanted! Jump in a specially made grape stomping barrel, and share this unique experience with the whole family.  Stomping sessions are at 1, 2, 3 and 4pm – a great way to get you into the thanksgiving spirit! Donations to the food bank are accepted.  Oct 6.

As well as these cool happenings in town, don’t forget to enjoy everything La Casa has to offer!   Why not play a couple of rounds of mini golf, or practice your aim at the tennis courts?  Then end your long weekend with a relaxing soak in one of our hot tubs!
